Maybe we watched “The Horse Whisperer” one too many times when we were younger, but we have a real soft spot for horses and our tots seem to love them, too. We live in the city and rarely get the chance to see them, so we have to make up for it in other ways. This print, by Esty artist Amanda Kindregan, struck us when we saw it. The colors are beautiful and the image of a horse and little girl sharing an apple are so sweet, that we have to find a way to incorporate into one of our kiddos rooms. And of course, since this week we’re featuring some of our fave Etsy finds, we had to include it. Digital print of original painting on archival velvet paper. What is it about bean bags? We remember loving them when we were kiddos. Their unstructured seating at its best and our tots think they’re fun to flop on, sit in and hide under. Of course, the originals are’nt the most eco-friendly of choices, but we’ve seen some newer versions that don’t have the funky poly fill beads. We’ve never been able to find the right covers for them, so have really steered away, until now. We recently found these bean bag covers where else, but on Etsy. These covers made by Melbourne based company and Esty storekeeper Moolka, are the perfect solution for keeping giving the beanbag a little structure with a super cute cover. The sides of the cover are made from four triangular shapes giving the bean bag neat and tidy shape.  This size beanbag cover would suit from small children up to kids in their pre-teens. We love Etsy for many reasons, one of which is that we can find loads of lettepress prints and cards. We heart all things letterpress and if we had spare time we’d probably take on this old school style of printing as a hobby. We’ve been pining for this numbers letterpress print, designed by Stephanie Lynne Ford for {pop} by Sycamore Street Press, for our tot’s room for awhile. The colors are gorgeous and the clean, modern numbers are perfect. Need we say more? Why not? This print of Oliver the Robot, by Artsy, is irresistible to us for a few reasons. We love the idea that a vintage camera could become a robot and have a whole new life beyond its years as a camera. We also really like the colors of this print and think Oliver would look sweet in any kiddos room.  8″x 10″ color photo print of one of an original, recycled assemblage sculpture., printed on Kodak Professional Portra Endura Paper with a matte finish. And original sculptures were created with recycled vintage objects like kitchen appliances, wood toys and game pieces and vintage cameras. Months ago we reviewed our little doll friend Audrey by Little Big Pants. We just love her and decided to include her photo booth shots this week for fun. We heart the idea of a dolly going to a photo booth. We spent many a day in our formative years huddled inside them with friends, future boyfriends and we’ve always liked the distilled moments they seem to capture. The black and white photos are the best. In these shots, Audrey and her friend Oliver are making funny faces for the camera. We realize these photos don’t make sense if you don’t have an Audrey doll, but since she’s become a recent addition to our family, we had to pick up her photos, they add to the charm. 5″ x 7″ photo of three photo strips of Aubrey and Oliver together and separate. $12.00, here.

It’s all about celebrating mamas this week, so we’ve compiled a few items that have been on our wish lists for when we’re feeling plush and not so guilty about splurging on ourselves. We’ve been drooling over this silkscreen print, by artist Wayne Pate of Good Shape Design, for about a year. We found it at one of our favorite online shops, Three Potato Four and  think it’s high time we treat ourselves to it, since it’s Mama’s Day in a few days. The orange+red print appropriately titled “Flock” reminds us of vintage 60s art and the pyramid of birds is quite sweet. And though we want this piece for ourselves, we’re pretty sure the kiddos will love it, too. Print measures 18″ x 24″ and ships rolled in a sturdy mailing tube. We were thrilled when the gparents decided to all pitch in and buy one big Christmas present this year instead of a bunch of little gifts. We had to stay up late Christmas eve assemble the Plan toys chalet doll house, but after a glass of wine (or two), it was a cinch. It’s trés modérne and reminds us of our favorite Dwell magazine lodgings. One day we hope to cash in our piggy bank and maybe have a house like the chalet. We like the fact that it’s not pink or frilly and both boys and girls dig it. It has two separate sides, so a few kiddos can play with it at the same time and the biggest bonus is all the furniture that  came with it. Definite crowd pleaser for mamas and tots alike. When looking for a desk for our toddler, we knew it had to be compact, since her bedroom is roughly the size of  a king sized bed. We decided on this one by P’kolino for it’s portability and size, plus it’s perfect for small projects and has a bit of storage built in. We’ve been drooling over Helen Rawlinson’s textiles for months now and recently discovered that a friend of ours had beat us to buying one of her pillows. Oh well, we’ll get to it soon. We absolutely love Rawlinson’s vibrant prints and are particularly enamored by the fact that her screen prints are hand pulled using solvent free, water based inks on unbleached organic, plain weave cotton. All of her prints are gorgeous, but we love the alphabet and numbers print so very much. Perfect for any kiddo’s room and safe for even the most wee of babes. Sold as textiles or pillows, her fabrics can easily be transformed into a pillow or if you’re a better seamstress than this cleeo & bea mama, you could make some new duds for your tots. When we were kiddos, we had loads of pennants hanging on our  bedroom walls. We collected them while on family vacations and held onto a not so good looking, pink Disneyland pennant for about a decade. We recently happened upon these pennants by Petit Collage and think they’re a nifty take on the ones from our youth. Printed on fabric, each wall decal is removable, reusable, and don’t wrinkle. Safe for any wall and the kiddos, the decals won’t leave a sticky residue. It’s pretty difficult to find environmentally friendly and 100% recycled print art. A lot of times when we do, we don’t like it, but occasionally we get lucky, and in this case we did. We love these sweet little forest friends prints we found by artist mama Rebecca Peragine of art & philanthropy. They’re minimal, gender neutral (thank you), cute and the perfect, eco-friendly piece for any kiddo’s room. Created with scrap paper, some of the tree trunks even display text, and printed on heavy 100% PCW recycled paper using soy ink. Non-toxic. Measures 11″ x 14″. Price is right, $28.00, here.
